The water hammer pump uses water to flow from a high place to a low place. When the impact valve is suddenly blocked, an instantaneous water hammer pressure that is more than ten times higher than the normal pressure is generated to realize water lifting. (Energy conversion process: potential energy → kinetic energy → higher potential energy)
According to the gradient flow of mountain streams and rivers, the river flow potential is converted into pressure; a collection tank is first built in the upper reaches of the river, and the tank supplies water to the water hammer pump. The water hammer pump converts the low water head into concentrated pressure water, and then sends it to the hydraulic system. The motor or turbine generator outputs stable pressure water to generate electricity. The generated pressurized water then goes to the next level of water hammer pump to generate electricity.
Water hammer pumps are suitable for installation in mountain springs, streams, rivers, man-made drops in diversion canals, outside reservoir dams, etc., where there are natural drops. Water source requirements:
(1) The water source has continuous water supply capacity and sufficient flow;
(2) The water source has a suitable drop. The available drop range is: 1~12 meters, and the optimal drop is: 3~7 meters. The greater the drop in the water source, the greater the amount of water lifted.
The water hammer pump power generation system relies on the position difference transfer of water resources to generate kinetic energy. With the assistance of an electricity-free water pump, it can save energy by pumping low-water level water to a high-water level pool, allowing the water flowing down from the high water level to continue to generate electricity. The kinetic energy drives the hydroelectric generator to generate electricity.
After the alternating current generated by the permanent magnet generator is filtered and rectified, it is controlled and converted by the inverter and adjusted to the frequency required by the grid for grid connection. There is no need to control the rotation speed of the generator, so the permanent magnet generator can be connected to the grid within a wide speed range. The electrical energy generated by the magneto is converted and output to the grid.
